Online Workshop – Birds of the Hedgerow previously aired 20th March 2021 (released again due to customer requests)

Join Jenny Mayes for a pre-recorded workshop. This workshop was originally live on Saturday 20th March 2021.

During the workshop you will make 3 cards using the ‘Birds of the Hedgerow’ stamp set (CS301D)

The emphasis of the workshop is colouring, backgrounds and different ways of creating cards using the birds as the focal point.

As this is no longer a live workshop you will need to cut the following card and paper to craft along.

CARD 1: 5″ square white base card (approx 130mm) Piece of black card 90mm square and a piece of watercolour card 85mm square

CARD 2: 5″ square white base card (approx 130mm) Piece of black card 110mm square and a piece of watercolour card 100mm square

CARD 3: 6″ square white base card (approx 150mm) Piece of black card 140mm square and a piece of watercolour card 135mm square

You will also need extra watercolour card to stamp some birds and leaves for decoupage during the workshop.

You may find a piece of mask-it useful although this isn’t essential.

Acrylic blocks

A stamping press is always useful

Versafine Onyx black ink pad (or Versafine Clair Nocturne)

Colouring medium. Jenny used Clean Color pens. A list of colours is shown on the group page. Please note this is a guide only. You may choose to use different colours and it isn’t necessary to have every colour on the list. Alternatively, you can use watercolour pencils or watercolour paints. (Watercolour card is used during the workshop).

Smoothies or distress tools.

A selection of Distress Oxides in your favourite colours. Jenny will be using light and dark blues, greens, yellows, pink and a brown (vintage photo).

Water and paintbrush. Spritzer. Tile or blending mat. Kitchen towel. Stencil tape. Scissors. Pencil.

Silicone glue (Jenny uses Pinflair glue) with a cocktail stick or syringe to apply it. Alternatively, you can use foam pads. Ball tool and embossing mat.

Permanent black fine liner. White pen.

You may wish to have some greetings stamps to hand to complete your cards. Jenny used ‘Scene-it sentiments’ (CS244D)

Stencils of your choice (e.g. funky foliage used on the previous 2 online workshops)

Glossy accents

Jenny re-used stamp sets from previous online workshops to show you how to combine stamps sets. The sets she used are ‘Backgrounds’ (CS282D) and ‘Meadow Flowers’ (CS304D) so keep these handy if you already have them. As always there are alternative cards so it is not essential for you to have either of these sets.

After you have purchased the workshop we will email you a link to join the private group via Facebook Live.

This workshop will be shown in a private group via Facebook Live. This means you will need a Facebook account to watch and craft along with Jenny.

You can watch the video whenever you want to and craft along at your own pace. As this workshop is no longer live you will be unable to ask questions.

To get the best from this workshop please, only attempt to do one card in each section. That way you will find you can craft along quite comfortably. There are several alternatives for each card and you can go back again and do extra cards later if you wish to.

When you are in the group you will see all the comments made by the ladies participating at the time. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will see the earliest first.

After the workshop, lots of people shared pictures of what they made which will give you lots of ideas too.
