Cabins Online Workshop – 9th December 2023

Join Jenny Mayes for an online Workshop, using the Cabins stamp set, on Saturday the 9th of December 2023

During the Workshop you will make 3 cards and decorate one wooden bauble which can be attached to a card or used as a separate gift. The main set used is Cabins CS367D but Jenny will also use Winter’s snowflakes CS144D and some Christmas greeting stamps.

There will be a quick break after we’ve completed the first card (quick cuppa) and a short lunch break between the second and third card.

Although you will make 3 cards during the workshop there will be numerous ideas for you to go back to, after the workshop, and create a wide variety of cards.

This includes the stamp set, Workshop, and the cards and papers you will need to craft along on the day.  Alternatively, if you already have the stamp set, you can just purchase the Workshop and cut your own card. Sizes of cards needed will be shown separately.

GENERAL ITEMS YOU WILL NEED TO CRAFT ALONG

Acrylic blocks and/or a Stamping press

Versafine Onyx black inkpad.

Colouring mediums. Jenny will be using pencils and Clean Color pens.

Smoothies, distress tools or brushes.

A selection of Distress Oxides in your favourite colours. Jenny will be using mainly light and dark blues.

Water and paintbrush. Spritzer. Tile or blending mat. Kitchen towel. Stencil tape. Scissors. Pencil.

Foam tape. Glue. Silicone glue may be useful too.

Ball tool and embossing mat.

Permanent black fine liner. White pen.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS

It’s a good idea to have some greetings stamps to hand to complete your cards. Jenny will be using ‘Winter wishes’ (CS059D) Christmas Frosting (CS144D) and Winter’s snowflakes (CS105D)

Stencils of your choice. Jenny will use Hobby Art snow, landscape and robin and holly stencils.

Glossy accents. Heat gun. Clean color dot pens.

Anything that sparkles….. Get out your prisma (clear or white) glitter, Stickles glitter glue, (Jenny will be using crystal and icicle) Wink of Stella clear brush, Wink of Stella glitter pens, Gansai Tambi Starry Colours and small clear or silver gems.

Bring out the embossing powders too. Jenny will use white, hologram and chunky white embossing powders as well as an embossing pen and versamark ink pad.

STAMPING ONTO THE WOODEN BAUBLE:

 There are a variety of ink ink pads you may already have that will be useful for decorating your bauble. Stazon black ink pad, versamagic chalk ink (Jenny will be using cloud white, sea breeze and tea leaves) and brilliance ink pads.

Alternatively there will be paper in your  pack to use instead. This means you can use any inkpad you already have. Other products that are useful, but not essential, when working with wood are Wood markers, Acrylic paint, posca pens, pencils for colouring, mod podge for sealing.

EARLY BOOKING IS ADVISED, especially as there is less time than usual before the workshop and Royal Mail are advising people to post earlier than usual this year to avoid the Christmas rush.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE ON THE DAY

This workshop will be shown in a private group via Facebook Live. This means you will need a Facebook account to watch and craft along with Jenny.

This live online workshop runs from 10am to 2pm’ish. However, you do not have to be free on the day as the group will remain open after the live workshop.

You can watch the video again, whenever you want to, after it finishes on the day, and craft along at your own pace and go back and do the alternative cards.

During the workshop you can ask questions.

If you already have the stamp set/s we will put the paper sizes needed, in the group, so you can cut your own. You will still need to sign up for the workshop.
